The third annual Rodelle Vanilla Day 5K is officially in the books! We had an amazing turn out and some incredible support for the event and couldn’t be happier with the results. First, we need to say a huge thank you to our sponsors who made the event happen! The Eye Center of Northern Colorado joined for the first year as our presenting sponsor – and brought with them over 25+ runners and walkers on their team “Eyes Eyes Baby”! Our Corporate Sponsors came with support from Front Range Insurance Group, Cigna, and Employment Solutions – all wonderful partners of the Rodelle team. And, we can’t forget our super our community sponsors, the Fort Collins Running Club and Colorado in Motion. A big, heartfelt thank you goes out to all of our sponsors who donated to the Rodelle Vanilla Day 5k – the proceeds are all going to be used to benefit social programs for communities in the vanilla growing regions of Madagascar through the Rodelle Foundation.
Let’s take a minute to also thank all of the 200+ runners and walkers who took the time out of their busy weekends to join us on our 3.1 mile course in Fort Collins! We loved seeing all of the first-time runners, and the veteran speedsters out on the course. We had several families who joined us, and that’s what the Vanilla Day 5k is all about – enjoying those who love and burning a couple of extra calories during the delicious fall baking season.
For the 21+ crowd, we had a generous offering of vanilla-infused beer from 3 of our favorite northern Colorado breweries: a Key Lime Pie Berliner from WeldWerks Brewery, an Orange Creamsicle from Snowbank Brewing and an Orange Vanilla Ale from the Colorado State University Brewing Program – all were immensely enjoyed (responsibly).
For the kiddos, we had a bounce house and fun-run obstacle course. It was a great joy to see 30+ youngsters running with parents or solo. We also had several participants in the full-length 5K from elementary school. Start ’em young!
